Apple today released iOS 14.4.2 and iPadOS 14.4.2 to address a security problem in WebKit. Reports indicate the issue may have been exploited in the wild, the company states.
The updates are available for iPhone 6s and later, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, all models of the iPad Pro, and the 7th generation iPod touch.
Apple also released iOS 12.5.2 to provide protection for the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and 3, and the 6th generation iPod touch.
This issue could enable attackers to process maliciously crafted Web content that may lead to universal cross-site scripting, Apple says. The company credits Clement Lecigne and Billy Leonard of the Google Threat Analysis Group for discovering the problem.
