LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Arbor Networks, a leading provider of secure service control solutions for global business networks, announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Ellacoya Networks, a leading provider of carrier-class broadband service optimization solutions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The new Arbor is addressing the most strategic issues for service providers – security and service control; assuring their future success with best-in class network protection and the means for delivering revenue-generating, differentiated secure services and service plans. The new Arbor provides intelligent visibility across the network (from core to broadband edge) and protection from network threats (routing issues, DDoS attacks, high bandwidth consuming applications like P2P and VoD).

“The two solutions are highly complementary and extremely powerful when combined, giving customers unparalleled broad and deep visibility that helps them protect and manage their network in ways not previously made possible by one company,” said Jack Boyle, Arbor Networks chief executive officer. “The new Arbor will enable service providers to enhance the security, availability and profitability of the full-spectrum of IP-based business lines, including wireless, wireline, IPTV and VoIP solutions. This best-in-class combination has Arbor extremely well positioned for significant growth in the coming year and beyond.”
