Dr. Jodi Asbell-Clarke

Dr. Jodi Asbell-Clarke is a senior leader at TERC, an innovative STEM education R&D organization. She focuses on game-based learning, computational thinking, and neurodiversity in K-12 education. She also leads a team of designers, educators, and researchers – with multiple international partners– to study how educational technology can be used to broaden participation in STEM, particularly for learners at-risk and learners with cognitive differences. Dr. Asbell-Clarke started her career as an onboard software verification analyst for IBM during the first 25 missions of the space shuttle and later taught physics and astrophysics at the laboratory school at University of Illinois. She has multiple publications, including a recent book, Reaching and Teaching Neurodivergent Learners in STEM: Strategies for Embracing Uniquely Talented Problem Solvers.
