TechCrunch Hacked Again: Foul-Mouth Hacker Embarrasses Top Blog
Technology blog TechCrunch has been hacked for the second time in 24 hours.
Technology blog TechCrunch has been hacked for the second time in 24 hours.The team behind one of the world's top blogs have been left with egg on their faces after the site was hacked once again.
Hacked TechCrunch website
Visitors to the site earlier today were greeted with an message (censored below) complaining about the site's introduction of an interstitial ad that had to be viewed or skipped before visitors could read the website's content:
"So Arrington, how much did all the media coverage yesterday brought you in trough the welcome.html ad you forced people to? What a f****** retarded move was that you t***. You should be thanking me and s****** on my f****** b******* for not deleting everyone on the box and publishing the mysql, if that's what you want O.K, I can do that.
Also, you f****** d******* from sites like Yahoo!, BBC and plenty more, where the F*** do you see adult content on
<removed link>
???????? I mean honestly, are you f******** also in just for the money?!?!?!
"
The site has, at least for now, been brought back to regular working operation -- but you have to wonder whether the TechCrunch team has got a proper handle on their security problem.
Only yesterday, TechCrunch boss Michael Arrington was joking on Twitter about the hacker, joshing that it might have been the fault of the Chinese before smirking that it could have been Canadian hackers.
I will keep my blog on the Sophos Website updated with information on this latest TechCrunch hack.
